Yellow nutsedge is becoming a more common weed found in lawns. Above average rainfall in the spring permits it to flourish. It’s a warm season perennial, that germinates as soils warm in the spring. Therefore, becoming a problem June through September, as desirable grasses are under stress. Relatively easy to identify, leaves are yellow-green in color and grows at a faster rate than surrounding grass. Control is difficult. Hand pulling if done on a regular basis, and chemical treatment is effective for satisfactory results. Being a member of the sedge family, requires the use of very specific herbicides not traditionally used. Severe infestations may require more than one treatment. Once control is satisfactory, remember, repeat infestations should be anticipated the following years, because of the seeds & tubers that remain in the soil.
We suggest the use of Talpirid, worm shaped baits. Mimics moles natural food source for maximum effect. Should only be used in areas with active mole activity. Insert baits carefully into active mole tunnels, moles feeding on baits die. After several weeks, new mole activity needs to be retreated. Mole infested areas should be monitored regularly & treated as needed. Due to conditions beyond our control we cannot guarantee results.

Will be provided weekly as needed, during routine visits March through December. The average time between visits is (7-10) work days. The average lawn requires 20 to 24 mowings annually. Grass clippings are mulched back into the lawn “Grasscycling”.
May be scheduled separately, but will be provided with routine mowing visits starting mid October, depending on leaf drop. If leaf clean-up can be completed in with the same amount of time a routine mowing visit requires there will be no additional charge. However, if more time is required to complete the clean-up, there will an additional charge based on our hourly labor rate.
Simply the removal of hundreds of small soil plugs from the lawn and deposited on the surface. Done annually, Fall thru Early Spring, when soil conditions are suitable. Provides channels for air, water & nutrients to reach lawn’s root zone. Helps relieve soil compaction and helps speed up the natural de-composition of thatch. Stimulates new growth & provides a good time to overseed lawn.
Should be a regular part of any lawn care program.
Mechanical process of cutting through the lawn bringing matted grass and thatch to the surface. This debris is raked up & Hauled away. Stimulates new growth. Provides a good time to introduce new seed varieties into the lawn, increasing germination. Done late summer thru early spring annually to help maintain a healthy lawn or restore declining turf.
The same process as de-thatching only this procedure deposits seed into the slits at soil level as it goes. Seed to soil contact increases germination 80-90%. Done late summer thru early spring to help maintain a healthy lawn or restore declining turf. Any time you seed bare areas in lawn, straw should be used.
